Another Special Wedding Card!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is not for a challenge - it's for my nephew, who is getting married this weekend! This has been a busy year for wedding cards for me. So here is the card:

This was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, but I made a few tweaks. The base is Whisper White Thick Cardstock (love that stuff!). The top layer is regular Whisper White cut with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit and stamped with some little images from the "vintage" Tiny Tags set. The perfectionist in me had to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get those little stamps set just right!

Can you believe how similar that little motif is to the one on the invitation? Serendipity! The middle layer is Basic Black cardstock, with the "vintage" Dictionary stamp inked with Versamark and heat embossed with silver powder. A silver satin ribbon bow and a few tags from the Tiny Tags are beautiful additions to the card. The front panel is popped up with dimensionals.

We'll be hitting the road tomorrow to head to the wedding in Ohio. I was stumped for a gift and then my husband suggested we start distributing his grandmother's china to the great-grandchildren. Ross and Kayla will be getting the first two place settings, packed in this fancy box.

I picked this up at Hobby Lobby today, and used my 40% off coupon. I never shop without it! I already had the white tulle, and purchased a roll of black tulle (50% off!). I was originally going to just tie it up around the box, but then I thought it would be nice if they could open it without messing up the bow, so the box and the lid were "tulle-ed" separately.

I got really ambitious and lined the inside with felt, and then made felt bags for the different types of pieces to protect them, both for the drive and for storage.

The bags are hard to see, with those 25 sheets of tissue paper bunched up in there, but everything is snug in the box. Good thing too, because this box is heavy. It's amazing how much a few pieces of china weighs!

That's it for today. I'm really looking forward to seeing family this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
