Card of the Day - Celebrate!

Hello and welcome back! I've got a birthday card for you today - actually it's for my daughter-in-law and my niece!

I found my inspiration today at three different challenges - the tic tac toe challenge at Retro Rubber, the sketch at Case This Sketch, and the colors at As You See It.

I used the elements in the right hand column of the tic tac toe board by die-cutting the labels for the birthday sentiment (from Hello Cupcake, a 2019 Sale-A-Bration set), and adding a strip of Lovely Lipstick foil paper and Daffodil Delight ribbon for the bright colors. The DSP is from Painted Seasons, also a 2019 Sale-A-Bration item, and brings in the Call Me Clover color. A mat of Soft Suede under the DSP adds the last color requirement. A little bling is always a good thing, so I colored a couple of basic rhinestones with the Light Lovely Lipstick Stampin' Blends marker before adding them to the card front. The inside sentiment (not shown) is from Curly Cute and is stamped in Call Me Clover, and the flower on the envelope is from Painted Seasons and stamped in Lovely Lipstick.

Here's a better shot of the foil paper strip.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

It's graduation time again!

Hello and welcome back! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and getting lots of time to craft! I'm on a hiatus from work for a couple of weeks, which gave me some time to make a whole bunch of graduation cards. My church suggested that we try to do something special for all those kids who are missing out on ceremonies and celebrations, and I thought, "I can do that!" Here are some of the cards I made:

Cards 1 & 2 - CASEd from Bonnie O'Neill

Card 3 - CASEd from Stesha Bloodhart

Card 4 - CASEd from Pat Tecza

Cards 5 & 6 - CASEd from StampinINK

Card 7 - CASEd from Debbie Mageed

Card 8

I CASEd all of my ideas from Pinterest, except for this last one, which I'm entering in the challenge this week at As You See It.

My favorite part of this project was matching the school colors! Luckily, I have a large stash of retired cardstock colors and DSP so I was able to find just what I needed. I also raided my retired stamp sets for most of these cards. Those old sets come in handy!

Now to get these cards addressed and in the mail!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Delightfully Detailed!

Hello and welcome back! I've got a collection of cards today. I finally opened my package of Delighfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper from last year's annual catalog and used the rectangular patterns for card fronts. Check these out:

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3

Card #4

Card #5

Card #6

Since the panels were a little narrower than a typical layer would be, I offset them and added the ribbon along the fold to fill the space. I also pulled out some retired Brilliant Blue and Berry Burst cardstock to add to the fronts.

Cards 1 & 2 had very detailed and fragile pieces so I covered those completely with vellum to protect them, then just added the sentiment piece and the colored ribbon.

Cards 3, 4, & 5 are all the same design, just with different laser-cut panels. I added a vellum circle and the die-cut piece to the center and a layered sentiment with ribbon again on the fold.

Card 6 has the vellum under the laser cut panel with a silver heat embossed design. I added the metallic ribbon to match the embossing.

I'm entering card #5 in the challenge at Sunday Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Happy birthday!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for a special birthday - a cousin is turning 60! Birthday celebrations are hard to plan during these difficult times, so I wanted to make an extra special card for her. Here it is:

I loved these dies when they first came out, but still hadn't taken them out of the package - not unusual for me! I still have some of the Grapefruit Grove foil paper from last year in my stash, so I decided to layer that with some Basic Black cardstock for the butterflies. I used a multi-purpose adhesive sheet on the back of the black cardstock so it would stick better to the foil layer - some glues just don't work well on that foil paper. There's some very subtle stamping on the Pool Party layer just to add a bit of texture, and the sentiment is also layered with some of the foil. I felt like it needed just a little something else, so I added the ribbon. The butterflies that got trimmed off from the front were added to the inside.

This card is for the birthday challenge at Stampin' Up Only Challenges.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
