Get Well From the Herd

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I've had these Layering Diorama Dies for awhile but hadn't come up with a card yet that could use them. They make a bigger cut out than the circle in the sketch, but the card is still pretty simple. Most of the work comes from coloring with Stampin' Blends.

I just love these animals - they make me smile!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Zany Zebras Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the safari animals challenge at Cupcake Inspirations and the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

In my collection, I didn't really have many options for safari animals, especially those that would be suitable for a little boy's birthday. Our neighbor's son is turning 3 next week, so this card is for him. There are lots of layers, but it's a pretty simple card.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Vintage Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the photo inspiration challenge at Inkspiration, the sketch challenge at the Paper Players, and the monochrome challenge at SUO Challenges.

I'm calling this a vintage anniversary card for two reasons - one, the photo definitely reads "vintage" to me and two, virtually all of the products I used are "vintage" Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Autumn Bouquet Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, the "just choose two" at Just Add Ink, the "CASE the catty with a twist" challenge at Paper Craft Crew, the "cut it out" challenge at TGIF Challenges, and the challenge at Tic Tac Toe Challenges. For Just Add Ink, I chose foliage and masking and for Paper Craft Crew, I CASEd a card on page 52 of the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. My tic-tac-toe is diagonal - bottom left to upper right - foliage, any sentiment, flowers.

Once I finished the card, I realized it doesn't really fit the CAS challenge, so I won't enter it there.

To CASE the catty, I chose a card made with the Fond of Autumn stamp set and coordinating dies. Instead of using the detailed die to cut a background, I made a stencil instead and created a colored background with blending brushes.

I used water painters with the challenge colors to color the floral motif. It's amazing how much variety you can get with just three ink colors! The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

Just like a card I made a few weeks ago, I felt like the background was a bit overpowering so I added a vellum layer to soften it and help the large die cut stand out.

A few details - some long retired organdy ribbon and some iridescent rhinestones - add the finishing touches.

I'm going to try to make another card with these colors so that I can actually enter a CAS card for that challenge!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Wood Textures Masculine Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the challenge at Double Trouble, along with the woodgrain challenge at Use Your Stuff.

Masculine cards are always difficult for me, as I like to use lots of bling and ribbon and colors. CAS is also difficult, but I think I've hit it with this card. I trimmed down a panel of Wood Textures DSP and spotlighted the center of the tree rings by die-cutting a circle from the center of another piece of DSP. If I planned better, I could have used the same piece of DSP, but I didn't think of the spotlight until the card front had been assembled. The center of the tree fits perfectly with the sketch!

A simple sentiment was added to the front, punched out with the Tailored Tag punch, and layered with another punched piece that was cut in half.

This card will be sent to my BIL, who is celebrating his 65th birthday this week, so I decided to add a funny sentiment to the inside, along with another strip of the wood grain DSP.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Autumn Leaves Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the CAS leaves challenge at the Paper Players, the sketch challenge at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog, and the autumn challenge at SUO Challenges.

I'm not quite sure if this card is CAS, but it definitely has a lot less stuff than I usually put on a card! The stamp set and dies I used are at least two years old, so they fit for Retro Rubber.

I die cut the outlined leaves from four different colors of cardstock and layered them onto green squares before popping them up on the front. The simple sentiment is also layered onto green and die cut using some nesting labels from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Just a simple Iridescent Rhinestone on each leaf and it's done.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Sweet Songbirds

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by this week's challenge at TGIF Challenges.

A pair of birds seems perfect for an anniversary card! And these are so sweet!

I used a blending brush to add a bit of color to the background before stamping the branches and the smaller bird. The larger bird was punched out and popped up, and I created a mask with a die-cut circle to create the sun in the corner.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Blooming Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.

I was surprised at how well the design of this die and embossing folder set matched the sketch. I tried to stick to a fall color scheme, since I'm sending this to a friend who turns 60 on October 1.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Detailed Floral Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I needed a 40th anniversary card for a relative and CASEd this design from a friend. After I started I making it, I thought I could alter it a bit to fit one of this week's challenges, but no matter what I tried, I just couldn't make it work. So here it is on my blog, where probably no one will see it because it's not in a challenge! (I'll add it to Pinterest though, so maybe it will get some traction there!)

The retired Lovely Lipstick Foil is my go-to for 40th (ruby) anniversary cards.

I didn't have any Lovely Lipstick ribbon, but I think this silver-edged white ribbon is a nice complement to the foil paper. And I love these Iridescent Pearls!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Today's Tiles Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I made this card for some friends celebrating their 35th (coral) wedding anniversary. I stamped a panel using Today's Tiles, then die cut it with a Layering Square die. I placed a scalloped square under each one, then added the stem, leaves and flowers from the Pierced Blooms dies. The die cut sentiment is stamped in Granny Apple Green for some contrast.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

The design was inspired by the challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches, Cupcake Inspirations, and Double Trouble.

When I saw the photo from Cupcake Inspirations, my only thought was a cupcake card! I followed the recipe from Double Trouble - at least 3 colors, 2 embellishments, and 1 stamped image. Now I'm hungry for a chocolate cupcake!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Boho Indigo Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I've got a second card for you today!

The design for this card was inspired by the photo at Just Add Ink and the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday.

I followed these challenges pretty literally, using the layers from TSOT and the blue vase and yellow flowers from JAI.

I've had this product medley for a few years and had never even taken the parts out of the box! The DSP, ribbons, and flower embellishments will definitely be used another time.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
