Borderlines Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's second card:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and the color challenge at Sunday Stamps.

The lines in the sketch brought this stamp set to mind, so I chose colors to coordinate with the other challenge. I used Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Baja Breeze for the leafy borders and Night of Navy for the sentiment and the mat layer. CAS cards are difficult for me - I really wanted to add some bling or ribbon somewhere - but I had to walk away!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Googly Ghouls

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I don't usually make Halloween cards but I was inspired by the challenges at Cupcake Inspirations, Double Trouble, and Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Also, a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!

The sketch challenge made me think of googly eyes, so I rotated it and offset the stamped images to keep that effect. I dug the eyes out of my stash and added them to the mummy, the monster, and the sentiment.

Paradise Palms Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I'm entering this card in the challenge at Tic Tac Toe Challenges (diagonal from bottom left to top right) and the challenge at TGIF Challenges. I wasn't sure what the theme was but one of the other entries called it a silhouette with blended background challenge, so I'm going to run with that!

I originally started to make this card for another challenge where I'll be guest designer, but it just wasn't working out the way I'd hoped. So, I went in a little different direction and came up with this. (Stay tuned for my guest designer card on November 4!)

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Sympathy Bouquet

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

This is a pretty simple card. The bouquet was stamped in Sahara Sand with a Pale Papaya bow. I stamped the greeting on vellum with Pacific Point and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I matched the die-cut section with the base and adhered it to the focal piece. The card base was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. I added a few sparkle gems for some interest.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

You Are The Best!

Hello and welcome back! The choir director at my church is celebrating a special birthday this week and I was asked to make a card for the group to sign. Here's the card:

I used the color challenge at As You See It for inspiration.

I wanted to make a slimline card because it has a bit more space for folks to sign it, so I pulled out my Slimline Dies. I originally thought about just using blending brushes to create the colored background behind the black chevrons, but then decided to cut that piece out of all of the colors and piece the brighter colors back in. The good news is, I now have enough parts to make 3 more cards, just with different combinations!

The chevrons alone were a little boring, so out came the Pierced Blooms Dies! I really like this color combo!

I had originally created a bow for the card front but couldn't really find a place where it fit, so since this card will be hand delivered, I figured, why not put it on the envelope? :)

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Painted Poppies Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's my second card for today:

This design was inspired by the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Just Add Ink.

I created a mat with some cardstock and DSP, diecutting the oval out of the DSP before adhering it. It gives the effect of matting the other die-cut oval without adding an extra layer. I also ran the mat through with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder for some added texture. The flowers were stamped in Garden Green and colored with Stampin' Blends to match the inspiration photo. I added some bling with 3 Opal Rounds.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I used one of the Split Card Textures Dies to create a stencil for the corners, then used a Blending Brush with Pumpkin Pie ink. The sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky and the flowers were colored in with Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party Stampin' Write Markers. I added some Iridescent Rhinestones to the stenciled areas. I like the way they pick up whatever color they are closest to.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Twinkle Moon Baby

Hello and welcome back! Here's another card for today:

I rotated the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday for this card.

When I learned this morning that a friend had given birth to a little boy overnight, I knew what I'd be doing today - making a card, naturally! This is one of my favorite sets for new baby cards. Everything is colored with Stampin' Blends and I added Wink of Stella to the moon and star - I think you can even see it in the photo!

Welcome to the world, little guy!

I don't usually make Halloween cards but I bought a couple of stamp sets last year that were just too cute to resist! The Clever Cats set reminds me of my fur babies - I can totally imagine them squeezing into a box that's just too small!

A Cherry on Top

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

The design was inspired by the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.

No matter how hard I try, I always want to make something with a cupcake for these challenges! :) Well, no cupcake this time, but I did use a set that has a cake plate. I think I've had this set for at least 10 years.

I'm also entering this card in the challenge at Paper Craft Crew.

There's just basic stamping and layering, with some ribbon and stars added. I didn't even use my Big Shot or a punch on this card! Oh, and the Crystal Effects on the cherry and the Dazzling Details on the cake plate. It's amazing what I can find when I start digging around in my craft studio!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Chocolate Makes Everything Better!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the challenges at Retro Rubber Challenge and Sketch Saturday.

This stamp set appeared in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, but for some reason, it has never seen ink! It's fun to try and fit the "candies" into the "box." I rotated the sketch to fit the candy box because it was bigger than I expected. And for a fun element, I die-cut a heart into the card front so that the box inside shows through. I was trying to figure out how to put that foil heart on the front so that you could open it to see the candy box, but I could never get enough edge to glue on. It's okay - this works too!

I think my favorite thing is the "*not for actual consumption" stamp!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Floating Stripe Fall Leaf Bonus Card

Hello and welcome back! Yesterday I made a card using the floating stripe technique and was left with the negative space from the die cuts. As promised, here's the card I made with that:

It's basically the same design, with the same die-cut background, just layered on a different color cardstock and with a different die-cut greeting. But for some added bling, I added a die-cut to fill the center opening using Grapefruit Grove Foil Paper from my stash. To add some interest, I ran it through the Hammered Metal embossing folder and attached a white bow.

I love the different colors that appear in this foil paper - it's almost holographic!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
