Majestic Mountain Diorama

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenge at Just Add Ink. I was twisting myself in knots trying to create this card for a color challenge but finally gave up! I'll make another card for that one!

I checked out a couple of tutorials on Pinterest to get some instructions for the base card layers. There is so much out there!

The Layering Diorama Dies have many different sizes and most stampers nest them, but I really wanted to keep the larger opening all the way through, so I just rotated one of them a bit to vary the view.

The background paper is from the New Horizons DSP and I added the moon, birds, and first set of mountains (I cut these in half so that they wouldn't line up directly under the next layer) before mounting it onto the back of the card. The foreground mountains were added onto the back of the first opening (inside the card) and the tree line was added to the accordion fold in front of the inside opening. The die cut trees were added last, one to the inside of the front, the other to the outside, before adding the front to the accordion folded pieces.

For the sentiment banner, the die was a bit too short for the sentiment I chose, so I used the trick where you die cut half and move the die to get a longer banner.

You can see the layers below.

A tip I picked up from Julie Davison was to add a card to the back of the diorama for the greeting. It creates an easel as well to help display the card.

This card will be going to a special young man from my church who will be celebrating his 13th birthday next weekend. He is going through some major health challenges so I hope this will cheer him up!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
