Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the challenges at TicTacToe and Paper Craft Crew.
And here is my card:
As you can see, for the tic-tac-toe challenge, I have used the top row across (blue, butterfly, bow) and the middle column down (butterfly, twine, stitching). I kind of like this monochromatic look!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

SIP#101 & FMS#290 - It's Graduation Season!
Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the graduation challenge at Stamp Ink Paper and the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
And here is today's card:
I didn't think I'd have any use for a graduation card this year, until a friend I've known for about 50 years posted on Facebook that she was receiving her Master's Degree in Music. In the world of academic regalia, the master's hood for music is pink, so I knew I needed to incorporate that color in the card. The brand-new In Color, Powder Pink, is perfect! Luckily, I just received my first order from the new catalog so I had some new product to use.
The card base is the new Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock - I love this for card bases! I added a layer of Powder Pink and then a layer of regular weight Very Vanilla, which I stamped with the "vintage" Music Notes Stampin' Around wheel stamp. (I have unmounted my wheel stamps, but that's a subject for another blog post.) The new Sheet Music background stamp could also be used here, but I don't own that one - yet! The half circle of Pear Pizzazz is embossed with the retired Square Lattice embossing folder, and then the seam is covered with some of the fabulous new Finely Woven Ribbon. A bow was added as a final touch, along with some stamping on the envelope flap. All stamping is done with Chocolate Chip ink.
I'm so proud of my friend for going back to school and furthering her education. I know how hard it is to do it later in life - I was 47 when I graduated from college with my Bachelor's Degree!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

SUO#175 & MM#499 - A Special Birthday Card
Hello and welcome back. Today's card is inspired by the Mainly Masculine challenge at SU! Only Challenges and the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.
And here is today's card:
My oldest son is turning 30 next week - how did that happen? - so these challenges provided the perfect opportunity to create an over-the-top card for that special milestone.
The base is Dapper Denim cardstock, cut 5-1/2" by 11" and folded to create a 5-1/2" square card. I added a layer of Vellum cardstock, cut 5-3/8 by 5-3/8 and embossed with the Brick Wall embossing folder. Next, another layer of Dapper Denim cut 3-1/2" square and layered with a 3-1/4" square of Smoky Slate embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. I then added a piece of Bermuda Bay striped grosgrain ribbon, notching the ends, and another layer of Dapper Denim cut 4-1/4" by 1-1/2" with a piece of "vintage" Smoky Slate patterned DSP cut at 4-1/8" by 1-3/8". (I also used that paper to make the envelope.) The stitched shapes oval is popped up with dimensionals, as are the numbers cut with the Large Numbers Framelits from the Bermuda Bay glimmer paper that was available during Sale-A-Bration this year.
And of course, a special birthday requires that the inside of the card also be special. I don't usually do much with the inside, but I made an exception this time!
The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate, the confetti in Bermuda Bay, and the balloons in Dapper Denim, with Bermuda Bay bakers twine strings. Before I send it, I'm planning to punch some confetti from the Bermuda Bay and Silver glimmer papers with my Confetti Hearts and Confetti Stars punches. I'm sure he'll be thrilled when he opens it up - NOT! At least it won't be at my house! :)
I've got six more years until my baby turns 30, so maybe I'll adjust by then.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

TGIFC#109 & PP#346 - Faux Dry Embossing
Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for two challenges - the inspiration challenge at TGIFC and the sketch challenge at the Paper Players.
Here is today's card:
I spent way too much time browsing on Pinterest today and found a wonderful technique video from Alisa Tilsner for faux dry embossing. With all of the dragonfly inspiration from Rochelle Blok, I thought this would be the perfect way to try it out!
I created my card base from Smoky Slate cardstock and then die cut 7 of the small dragonflies from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and glued them onto the card front using the Tombow glue. I lined them up diagonally like Alisa suggests in her video. I was able to use some of the parts I cut off to fill in the empty spaces. Then I just added a banner of Pink Pirouette, a sentiment from Eastern Beauty, and a little sparkle with some Silver Glimmer Paper. It's a pretty simple card, but it packs a lot of punch, don't you think?
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
