SSC 169 & FMS 319 - Petal Palette Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today I've got a birthday card I'll be sending off to my husband's cousin.

I used Night of Navy for the base and added a layer of Pink Pirouette under the Whisper White. The sentiment is on Whisper White layered with Pool Party. The flower is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black stamped off once, then colored in with Pink Pirouette and Pool Party Stampin' Blends.

This card is entered in the color challenge at Sunday Stamps and the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Special cards for special people!

Hello and welcome back! I've got a couple of cards today that are not for challenges. A friend of my son got married last week. They've known each other since elementary school, and he is a very sweet and thoughtful young man. I sent this card to him and his new wife.

In the photos I saw on Facebook of the wedding, the bridesmaids were wearing dresses that were a dusty plum color, so I thought this would be the perfect color combination for this card. The base, stamping, and ribbon are Perfect Plum and the layer is Smoky Slate. I added a doily for interest and stamped on that as well.

The other card I sent out today is for my niece who just passed the test to become a Registered Nurse. She has worked so hard to get there, and even had a baby in the middle of her studies last summer! This is what I made for her.

I loved this stamp set as soon as I saw it in the new Occasions Catalog, and it will be so much easier to use when I get my new Stamparatus! I used Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Soft Sky for the stamping, and the card base is Early Espresso. Here's the inside:

I found this punch owl idea on Pinterest and just had to use it!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

PCC 274 - Foil Frenzy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today I've got two cards - the same design, but one is vertical and one is horizontal.

I have two friends celebrating milestone birthdays this week, so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to use this beautiful shiny DSP! I pulled out my new Petals & More Thinlits to cut the branch from Vellum Cardstock and added a sentiment from the new Petal Palette stamp set.

Insides were stamped with the Number of Years stamp set.

This card is for the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

JAI 391 - Foxy Birthday!

Hello and welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! We were happy to have our older son and his wife here for Christmas - we haven't seen them since they got married a year and a half ago. We had a bit of snow the day before Christmas and then the temperatures took a dive. On the night after Christmas, we went to the Morton Arboretum for an exhibit they call "Illumination." They've got a trail around a lake and the trees and prairie are lit up with different kinds of lights. It was so beautiful with the snow on the ground, but boy, was it cold! We managed to get around the exhibit in about an hour and couldn't wait to get home and warm up. My son and DIL live in Washington state, so they're not used to temperatures so cold, but we all layered up and it was actually tolerable.

Today I have a birthday card for our church's children's ministry director.

Here's how I created it:
1. Whisper White Thick Cardstock base cut 4-1/4" x 11", score at 5-1/2"
2. DSP from A Little Foxy Stack (retired) cut 4-1/8" x 5-3/8", attach with SNAIL
3. Whisper White layer cut 4" x 5-1/4", cut circle using Layering Circles Framelits, stamp vine with Calypso Coral
4. Tree from Foxy Friends stamped on Whisper White with Pear Pizzazz, cut with Perfect Pines Framelits (retired), glue onto DSP under circle opening
5. Stamp fox with Pumpkin Pie, legs with Tangerine Tango, and fussy cut
6. Wrap Calypso Coral bakers twine (retired) around top layer and tie in a bow. Attach to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Attach fox with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
8. Stamp sentiment and frame from Happy Birthday Gorgeous in Calypso Coral, punch out with Classic Label punch (or fussy cut if you don't have the punch), and attach with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
9. Done!

This card is for the challenge at Just Add Ink. I've used twine and trees.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
