Card of the Day - Jade Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for our nephew and his wife who are celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary.

According to Hallmark, the 19th anniversary is the jade anniversary, so I pulled out some Just Jade cardstock and found a DSP with Just Jade in it.

I added the label with a coordinating color from the DSP, some Just Jade gingham ribbon, and a couple of resin hearts to complete the card.

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Paper Craft Crew.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

CASEing the Catalog - Woodland Wonder

Hello and welcome back! For today's card I decided to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a really cute card from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.

One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is that we have access to a file with the supplies used for all samples in the catalogs. There are not usually any instructions but at least we can match colors. So there are three stamps in this set that make up the tree, but it took some trial and error to realize that the stamp for the base of the tree needed to be used twice (once without the grass) to make the tree tall enough. Even then, I probably could have moved it up a bit so that all of the leaves at the top would show when the card was folded. If I were to make this card again, I would also stamp before scoring the cardstock. The poor raccoon is a bit mushy!

This really wasn't a difficult card, just a bit time consuming with all of the coloring. This is for my daughter-in-law's birthday. She is a big Animal Crossing fan and I felt like this set had an AC vibe.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card of the Day - Triangle Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today I have another masculine birthday card.

This week's Inkspirational challenge was "Triangle," so I came up with this. I used the largest equilateral triangle as a base for the smaller triangles and then popped up the entire piece with dimensionals. There was a small gap in the center because the corners are a bit rounded so I covered it up with a blue gem.

I wanted an embossed background and I thought I had a folder with triangles, but alas, I do not. So this was the next best thing! The sentiment is punched out with the Tailored Tag punch to complete the angle theme.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card of the Day - Anniversary Mashup!

Hello and welcome back! We're starting to get into the heart of wedding season, which means it's anniversary season too! Here's today's card:

A few days ago I made some anniversary cards that used the negative image of the large die from Beautiful Brushstrokes. This left me with lots of pieces that I didn't want to waste but wasn't sure how to use. Then I saw this week's sketch challenge at Paper Craft Crew and the lightbulb went on!

I pulled out my trusty Color Coach to find a combination that included Rococo Rose, and found this one - Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, and Mint Macaron. I never would have come up with that on my own but I kinda like it!

Although I added the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment inside, you could use this card for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card of the Day - Sweet Soiree Belated Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I've gotten behind again this month so I needed these to catch up!

This is a pretty simple design but I wanted to take advantage of the many colors in the Designer Series Paper, so I made it in two different colorways.

I pulled out an old Versamarker from my stash to make the silver embossed strip in the center. I was surprised that it still worked!

I originally planned to just trim out the rectangles but then decided to use my Stitched Rectangles Dies instead. I don't think I'll ever give those up!

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Fab Friday.

Well, now I have to start signing and addressing these cards and more. I think I'm going to have about 25 cards going out this week!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card of the Day - Happily Ever After

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for some upcoming anniversaries.

This week's challenge at TGIF Challenges inspired me to pull out the Beautiful Brushstrokes Dies - but I had a moment of panic when I couldn't find them! You know how it is when you know you bought something but just can't find it? I'm usually pretty good about cataloging and filing my dies and stamp sets as soon as I get them. I must have had a brain fart when I first looked because eventually I did find it - filed exactly where it was supposed to be!

I fussed around with this bow for way too long trying to get it so the same side showed on both loops and tails, but I finally decided that I like it more this way!

Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the pieces that were cut out from the brushstroke panel...

Here's the sketch for the TGIF Challenge:

Edited to add: Here's a blue version I made for an upcoming 45th (sapphire) anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Card of the Day - Another New Home!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for a relative who recently moved. I like trying to make something that looks like the actual house.

The Coming Home stamp set and coordinating Home Together dies are my favorites for making these types of cards. For this card, I used the Layering Circles dies to make a mask so I could blend the background and sun. The Blending Brushes were the perfect tool for this technique!

Stampin' Blends were used to color the house die cuts to match the actual new home.

This design was inspired by the sketch at Sunday Stamps Challenges.

Thanks for stopping by - happy stamping!
