Tap Tap Tap!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I was inspired by the tic tac toe challenge at Retro Rubber (left column - your choice, embossing, and ribbon/twine) and the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday.

I pulled lots of retired products from my stash for this card - again! The stamp set is from somewhere around 2014, as is the designer paper and the colored cardstock. I wanted to leave the typewriter kind of plain but felt it needed some shiny keys. I found my old gold Stampin' Dazzle Marker, but it didn't give me quite the look I wanted so I added some Clear Wink of Stella on top. I think you can see it in the photo below.

The DSP panel was dry embossed and I added some Early Espresso twine for that needed element. The gold metallic pearls in the corners were in the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Celebrate with Flowers

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card (or cards):

I used the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for these cards.

Both cards were created on a Basic Black card base with a layer of Misty Moonlight under the DSP. I used both sides of the DSP and switched the patterns on the second card. I'm not sure the die-cuts around the label really show up very well against either background, but it is what it is. I had originally planned just for the green and blue, but added the white to give a little more definition. A couple of the die cuts are flipped around so that they fit the sketch better. (They would typically be facing the opposite direction.)

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

You Are The Sweetest!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, the theme challenge at the Paper Players, and the colors at Sunday Stamps.

Most of the products I used on this card are retired, but I don't think I've ever inked these stamp sets. The lemon was stamped in Daffodil Delight and the seeds were stamped in Whisper White Craft ink and heat embossed with white powder. The leaves are stamped in Granny Apple Green and I colored some Clear Epoxy Shapes with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend before adding them to the card front. Now I've got a juicy lemon slice!

I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green, punched it out with the Washi Label Punch, and then ran the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Marker around the edge to give it some definition.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Beachy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the challenges at Sunday Stamps, TGIF, and the Paper Players.

I made my slimline card a mini, rather than a large one and Paradise Palms was the obvious choice for a beach themed card! The background was created with Blending Brushes and I added the sand dune by fussy cutting the stamp. The dune continues the line of the ribbon that's wrapped around the DSP layer.

One of my favorite activities in the summer is going to the beach, which in my case is the public swimming area in a nearby town. It's not a beach in the traditional sense, but it does have a zero-depth entry with sand, and a large 15-foot-deep area for swimming and diving. It used to be a quarry, which is why it's so deep. I take a water aerobics class there 3 times a week, and it is the best part of my summer!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Dotty Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenges at As You See ItJust Add Ink, and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (right column - die cut, squares, free).

There's no stamping on this card (except for the inside), but my Big Shot got a workout! And I did use some ink for accents. For the center panel, I used Coastal Cabana ink with a blending brush to create the base, then used one of the masks from the Foursquare Decorative Masks and some Pretty Peacock ink to create the pattern (the little squares in the mask were just what I needed for the Tic Tac Toe challenge!). The Lemon Lolly layer was embossed using one of the Basics 3D embossing folders. My son thought it looked liked the candy dots on the paper strips so I decided to try and bring that out a bit by dragging an ink pad across the raised dots. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned! Some of the ink "splotched" in between, so I figured I'd just go with it and add more splotches to make it less obvious that there was a mistake.

The vellum circle was embossed with another of the Basics folders, then I popped up the die-cut birthday sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
