Joy of Noel Christmas

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I feel like the universe has been conspiring against me as far as my holiday preparations have gone. I was way behind on getting my cards made, and then a friend who was planning a weekend visit decided to come two days earlier! Then my husband (who is the family cook) came down with covid. Add those things to the three singing events I had over the weekend, and you'll understand why my cards have not yet left my house! This is the last one I'm making this year!

When I designed this card, I used the sketch for the Atlantic Hearts challenge, but as I was creating it, I found 5 other challenges that it fits as well - Shopping Our Stash, Just Add Ink, Double Trouble, NBUS, and SUO Challenges!

I borrowed the stamp set from my friend, so maybe I was shopping her stash! But the embossing folder has been in my collection since at least last year and hadn't been used yet. This card is for the organist at my church, so I had to use something musical!

As I said, my cards are now all done - I'll post pictures later (maybe next week...). I just have to decide who gets what - there are more than 20 designs and more than 130 people on my list. I think tonight I'll be watching a movie, or two or three, and prepping the cards for mailing tomorrow. Hey, at least I'm getting them out before the 25th!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Peaceful Christmas

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design is for the challenges at Just Add Ink, Inkspirational Challenge, and Tic Tac Toe Challenge (right column - red or green, patterned paper, die cut).

So right now, I'm in the midst of my Christmas card-making frenzy! I always put it off till the last minute and then lose my mine mid-December! I decided to pull out a couple of old Paper Pumpkin kits from prior years and make some alternatives, along with making the cards just how the kit is meant to be. I love the many alternative ideas on Pinterest, but I came up with this one to match the sketch challenge. Lucky for me, it also fits the other two challenges!

Items from the original kit include the vellum trees, the woodgrain sentiment banner, the sparkly gems, and the solid and gingham Shaded Spruce layers. I got those layers by cutting up an envelope. I added the Basic White Thick Cardstock card base, the Basic Black layer and Nested Essentials die cut, and the black glittery ribbon.

I should have planned the glue dots on the vellum trees to be a bit more random, since I used the gems to cover them up.

I may try a couple more alternatives, but I'm running out of time, so soon I'll be back to either making kits the way they're intended, or raiding my stash for already completed cards!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Merry Gingham Christmas

Hello and welcome back! Here's another card for today:

This design was inspired by the challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches (sketch), TGIF Challenges (colors), and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (diagonal - red, gingham, pearls).

I used the Gingham Embossing Folder to create the background and Gingham Cottage DSP to back the "merry" rectangles. "Christmas" was stamped in Granny Apple Green and fussy cut before layering on top. The pearls in the corners were added for balance and bling!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Deck the Halls

Hello and welcome back! I'm getting in the groove now, so here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Just Add Ink.

I stamped the ornaments in several bright colors as inspired by the photo, then "tumbled" them across the card to match the sketch. I also embossed the background with a Pine Bough embossing folder, then highlighted the boughs with Clear Wink of Stella. I think you can see it in the photo.

Brightest Holiday Season

Hello and welcome back! Here's my second card for today:

This card was inspired by the challenges at Double Trouble Challenges and SUO Challenges.

The Double Trouble challenge asked for stitching, so I used the Patchwork Pieces Dies to created the pieced background. The DSP I used, along with the ribbon, is my favorite product in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog for the SUO challenge. I also used a couple of the Adhesive Star Trinkets to enhance the gold foil stars in the DSP.

Season of Chic

Hello and welcome back! I can't believe it's been over two months since my last post! If you want to know what I've been doing, check out the ACK!! page on this blog. It's been a fun project, but it has taken up all my spare time. Most of my friends with November birthdays and anniversaries didn't get cards this year; however, many of them did get a chicken. 🐔

Anyway, it's time to get back to making cards and entering challenges. Here's today's card:

For this card I was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and Color Throwdown.

The sketch is a slimline card but I made mine a standard size. I used the Season of Chic stamp set along with the matching Chic Dies. I pulled out my Stamparatus so that I could stamp the flowers several times to bring out the color. This was a pretty simple card to make.

I've got a lot of birthdays in December so I need to get working on those and I haven't thought about Christmas cards yet! I may have to pull from my stash to get those out on time...

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Spec-Taco-Lar! Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I was so inspired by a challenge sketch that I decided to make a second card! Here it is:

Like yesterday's card, this was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I've had this stamp set for awhile but hadn't used it yet. I wish it had a coordinating die set, but the larger stamps aren't too difficult to fussy cut. And I love coloring with my Stampin' Blends!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Textures & Frames Birthday

Hello and welcome back! It's been a while since I've posted a card because I've been preoccupied with another project - ACK!! You can read about that on the ACK! page on this blog. For today, though, here's a card:

I used the challenges at Color Throwdown and CAS Colours & Sketches for inspiration. The colors were perfect for a masculine card, which I have a need for this week.

For the solid circles, I stamped off once with Pecan Pie, then used it full strength for the outer frame. The bars in the center are stamped in Crumb Cake and the sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze. This card was very quick to put together.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Another New Home!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is not for a challenge. My BIL and SIL recently moved to a new home in a new state so this card is for them.

I used this card from Tammy Gill as inspiration. Their home has some stone on the front and the siding is green so I used the Stacked Stone stamp for the background and Mint Macaron since it is the closest color I have. Of course the heart had to be red so I brought in some Sweet Sorbet.

For the trim, I wrapped the ribbon around the base layer and taped it to the back, then cut another piece and gathered it into a bow tied with Linen Thread. A couple of Mini Glue Dots were used to attach it to the card front. I took Tammy's suggestion and used Foam Adhesive Sheets when die cutting the letters and house to make them easier to pop up.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Strong at Heart Duo

Hello and welcome back! I'm catching up so I've got two more cards for you today. Here's the first one:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Paper Craft Crew.

And here's the second card:

This one was inspired by the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday.

For the get well card, I trimmed a panel of DSP diagonally to get the corners for the sketch, then decided to use the center piece for the anniversary card. With the addition of the washi tape, it looks pretty close to the TSOT sketch, although I did have to change it to landscape orientation.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Painted Poppies Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I'm working on getting my mojo back, so here's today's card:

This design is based on the challenge at Sketch Saturday.

Another friend who shares a birthday with my husband loves poppies, so this was the perfect set for her card. The die cut flowers were added onto a layer of DSP that has the leaves stamped on it, then a die cut circle with the sentiment was popped up on top. I added a few sequins for the theme twist from the challenge.

Easy peasy!

Belated Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I've had a bit of a creative block lately so I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. I decided to CASE a couple of cards that I pinned on Pinterest, just to try and catch up on my list. I'm a bit behind on that too. 😐 Anyway, here is today's challenge card:

This is perfect for the "anything goes" challenge at Double Trouble.

I needed a couple of masculine belated birthday cards and this black & white with a pop of color design fits the bill. I love the Azure Afternoon color accent!

The other cards I've made recently were for a batch of anniversary cards using the "stack, slice, and shuffle" technique.

And a birthday card for a young Star Wars fan at my church who shares a birthday with my husband. This one is CASEd directly from Wendy Cranford.

I'm not sure I'd want to make this one again, but it was fun to make once!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Fruit Stripe Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (sketch), Cupcake Inspirations (add a bow/ribbon), the Paper Players (colors), and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (left column - stencil, blue, stripes).

In order to get the stencil and stripes for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I used the striped mask from the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks on Basic White and used Blending Brushes in the colors from the Paper Players challenge. I cut the stenciled cardstock into small rectangles to create the pattern from the sketch. The Blackberry Bliss piece was cut in the "wrong" direction so the stripes go the opposite way.

One thing that struck me after trimming was that these stripes reminded me of Fruit Stripe Gum! Does anyone else see that? I think I need to use those leftover strips with the Zany Zebras stamp set!

I added the rectangles to a Night of Navy layer wrapped with Denim ribbon before adding it to the card base. The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy, layered on Daffodil Delight and popped up with dimensionals. A little bling was added with Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
