Sending Happy Thoughts

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This week's challenge at SUO Challenges was to CASE something from page 5 of the current Sale-A-Bration brochure. I used the layout from the card in the upper left corner, but changed the stamp set, DSP, and embellishments. I just chose other products from the SAB brochure. The Beautifully Happy stamp set and the Dandy Designs DSP are each available for just a couple more days with a $100 purchase (in the US).

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Bunny Playing in the Rain

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I managed to squeeze four challenges into this card! -- Hand Stamped Sentiments, Shopping Our Stash (Something that starts with "B"), Tic Tac Toe Challenge (diagonal - die cut, free, spring), and Try Stampin on Tuesday.

My furry friend (TSOT) is a die-cut (TTTC) bunny (SOS), dancing in the spring rain (TTTC)! He's wearing a Balmy Blue raincoat with a Flirty Flamingo nose and Old Olive grass (HSS). This card checks all of the boxes for all of the challenges!

I even pulled out a couple of gadgets that I often forget about - my fringe scissors to cut the grass, and a craft wobble to help the bunny dance.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

So Much Love Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, Color Throwdown, and Double Trouble.

I'm always needing anniversary cards for my stash, so when this set appeared in the new Mini Catalog, it was at the top of my list! I pulled a lot of retired products for this card - good thing I have a big stash! I fussy cut the edge of the lace patterned paper to match the torn edge on the sketch and used ribbon for the solid piece under the sentiment.

White Poinsettia

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was created for the challenges at Christmas Card Throwdown and Hand Stamped Sentiments.

A card with no sentiment is unusual for me, but without one, I can use this for whatever I need. The color challenge allowed for some sparkle, so I added a layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper under the flocked vellum. The Poinsettia Dies have some subtle embossing detail on the petals to define them a bit better.

Birthday Candles

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was created for the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and The Paper Players.

The stamps in the Build a Birthday stamp set are multi-purpose - they can be cake layers or candles. I alternated the designs with the Balmy Blue and Petal Pink, then added So Saffron candle flames. I used a sponge dauber to add the glow around the flames and some Iridescent Rhinestones to make them sparkle. The stamped piece was layered onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and a ribbon was tied around it before adding it to the card front with the sentiment label.

On the first version I made, I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to outline the candles and flames, but I wasn't as happy with that look. I think it's a bit too stark for the subtle colors - maybe a Crumb Cake marker would have been better.

Moving Forward Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I used this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for inspiration.

I have a great-nephew who is turning 3 this week, so this is for him. He and his sister usually get dinosaur-themed cards, but I thought I'd go with something different this year.

I'm pretty sure that this image is a tricycle, even though you can only see two wheels, so I thought it was appropriate for a little guy. The sentiment was stamped on a banner of Poppy Parade and placed to cover up the sentiment that is included as part of the stamped image. The trike and sentiment banner were embellished with Silver Mini Brads and the card front was embellished with some bits from the All The Trimmings Embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping! (I'm now off to watch the Super Bowl - Fly, Eagles, Fly! 🏈)

Birthday Cake Celebration

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenges at As You See It and Just Add Ink.

This is another pretty straightforward card. The DSP was layered onto Night of Navy cardstock, then the ribbon was wrapped around and tied in a knot. (The navy scalloped circle was cut from the base layer before adhering the DSP. It's a great way to conserve your cardstock!) The cake was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Stampin' Blends before die cutting the circle and layering it onto the navy circle. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.

Anniversary Love Notes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I used several challenges as inspiration for this card: Hand Stamped Sentiments, Color Throwdown, Shopping Our Stash, and Sunday Stamps Challenge.

My other inspiration for this card is my friends and my sister, who both have wedding anniversaries on Valentine's Day. Their cards usually take on a Valentine theme, and this year is no different! I used a heart in the center instead of the circle in the Sunday Stamps sketch and added little love note envelopes instead of floral accents.

To bring in the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge, I used Soft Sea Foam as the green in the card base and small hearts on the envelopes, kraft paper for the envelopes as the brown, and stamped on the love notes in Blushing Bride for the pink. I think the red is obvious!

People Like You...

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the stitching challenge at Double Trouble. I didn't have any mythical or magical creatures in my stash, but I've got lots of stitched stuff!

There is stitching on the floral panel and the border of the sentiment label, as well as the beautiful needlepoint stitching in the DSP. I tied a bit of linen thread around the banner to add some actual fiber to the card, then added a single Opal Round to the center of the stitched flower for some sparkle. And I don't know why, but no matter how hard I try to center these types of embellishments, they always seem to shift!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Back on Your Feet

Hello and welcome back! Here's another card for today:

For this card I used this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

A friend recently had foot surgery and is laid up for a bit. I thought this might cheer her up! (She's a bookstore owner, so she is not lacking for things to do!)

After stamping and coloring the turtle, I fussy cut him. Those little toes were a pain! I stamped the image again on the DSP and then popped him up. I love the added dimension!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Birthday Queen

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

The inspiration for this design came from the challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday. I couldn't make the idea in my head work for the sketch, but I could always add more layers!

This is another birthday card for a high school friend who is a beekeeper. It's become an annual tradition for me to try and find something with bees for her card. This new stamp set came just at the right time!

I used my Stamparatus for the bee so that I could get a nice crisp image to color. The Stampin' Blends I used were the colors taken from the DSP. Since the DSP is so vibrant, I added a layer of vellum to help the bee stand out a bit more. For the crown and the words, I couldn't get the look I wanted from Versamark and silver embossing powder so I tried stamping in silver metallic ink and then embossing with clear powder. I liked this result so much better! The layer under the DSP is Basic White cardstock embossed with the Hive 3D folder, then brushed with Crushed Curry ink for dimension. I think it looks a bit like a honeycomb -- at least that's what I was going for!

Of course, I also had to add a heart of gold. The silver and white bakers twine and iridescent pearls add just a bit of sparkle and bling to this bee-utiful card!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
