Aviary Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card works for several challenges this week: the TGIFC birthday challenge, the Tic Tac Toe challenge (white cardstock, CAS design, silver embossing), CAS Colours & Sketches, and the Paper Players CAS with a bird.

I turned the sketch 90 degrees to get the three bird cages on the card. They are a little taller than I'd like for the sketch, but I did try to get them as close to the bottom as I could! The cages are embossed with silver and the birds were stamped with three of the current In Colors. I edged the rectangles with the matching Stampin' Write Marker to give them a bit more definition, and then added the matching Matte Decorative Dots to the tops of the cages. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black before running the card layer through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Pretty Medallion Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Just Add Ink.

For this card, I stamped the Pretty Medallion with Pacific Point onto Sahara Sand cardstock and colored it with Watercolor Pencils. The "favorite" that I added was the Iridescent Rhinestones. They are such a versatile embellishment - they pick up the color of whatever is nearby.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder, then the strip was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I started out to make two of these cards, but had a halo on the stamped image on the second one. So I just trimmed it down a bit further to get rid of it and I got a little wider border on this card. It's still just as pretty and it matches the sketch a bit better!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Framed Florets Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I used the Hand-Drawn Dots stamp with Mango Melody ink to create the background, which was layered over a piece of Petal Pink cardstock. The Pool Party frames were created by nesting two Stitched Rectangles Dies. The florals were colored in with Stampin' Blends and added onto a Tea Lace Doily before adhering the whole piece to the card front. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.

Navy and Gray Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Color Throwdown and Try Stampin on Tuesday.

This was a pretty simple card to put together. The birthday cakes were stamped and punched with a 1-1/4" circle punch, then layered onto a 1-3/8" scallop circle punch. The circles were then added to the Smoky Slate piece that had been embossed with the Hive 3D embossing folder. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of Basic White, trimmed to a flag and layered on a scrap of Night of Navy, then tucked under the embossed piece. There's a bit of Clear Wink of Stella on the candle flames, but it was hard to photograph.

Is It Christmas Yeti?

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and As You See It.

Every year I say I'm going to start my Christmas cards earlier and every year I don't! So this year I'm going to try to enter as many challenges as I can at Christmas Card Throwdown, and that should give me a head start. We'll see how long this lasts!

This was an interesting color combination for a Christmas card, but I think I made it work with this cute yeti set. I might have to work on the placement though, because the scarf is hanging off the edge. There will be some tweaks coming up, but overall, I'm pretty happy with this.

The colors limited what I could do, but I'll probably try something else with this set later in the year.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Artistic Expressions Best Wishes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges.

I'm usually a lots-of-layers-and-embellishments kind of girl, but this is an anniversary card that is being sent overseas, so I really had to limit myself. All of the layers are glued except the flower, which just has one dimensional beneath it. The glitter enamel dots are pretty flat, so they shouldn't be a problem either.

The foil accents in the DSP and the glimmer vellum dress this card up without being too showy.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Forever After Wedding

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Sunday Stamps Challenge (what better celebration than a wedding?)and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (left column: vellum, floral, stitching and diagonal: vellum, free, love sentiment).

A young woman who used to sing in the choir at my church just got married last week, so we wanted to send a card from the group. I used my favorite wedding sentiment from Forever Fern and some florals from the Eden's Garden Specialty DSP and Forever Flourishing Dies, along with some Gold Glimmer Vellum and Gold Glitter Enamel Dots for sparkle. Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, and Gold were an almost perfect match for her wedding colors!

Pretty Kitty Pajama Inspiration

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was created for the challenges at Paper Craft Crew and Shopping Our Stash.

The SOS challenge asked us to use our favorite pajamas as inspiration for our project. Here's my jammies!

I've had this stamp set since it came out several years ago, but I don't think it's ever seen ink. I love these little kitties! Fussy cutting is not my favorite technique but I was surprised at how quickly these worked out. I just added a bit of coloring with some Stampin' Write and Stampin' Blends markers.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

P.S. - I finally tested negative for COVID today - hallelujah!

Apple Harvest Greatest Gift

Hello and welcome back! It was so nice to get back to stamping tonight -- I've been stuck in the spare bedroom of my house for the last week with COVID. I'm still not feeling quite up to par but getting back into my craft room is definitely good for my mood! Anyhoo, here's today's card:

I created this for the challenges at Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.

I stamped the flowers, apple, and sentiment with Early Espresso, then colored in the apple and flowers with Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. The apple is popped up on a die cut square and the flower squares were backed with Early Espresso cardstock to make them stand out a bit better. A few red rhinestones were added in the corners for some sparkle.

This was a pretty quick and easy card to put together.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Ombre Simple Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Here are today's cards:

I was inspired by the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I started out cutting some narrow strips to create the woven cards, using a sketch I found on Pinterest. After trimming the strips, I had a bunch of 2" long pieces that I couldn't let go to waste! And I think that last card is my favorite, so that's going in the challenge.

The strips are Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green from an old SAB DSP pack and the Cherry Cobbler comes in on the sentiment and pearls. They are Iridescent Pearls that I colored with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend Marker.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Magenta Paper Hug

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I used the challenges at Color Throwdown and TGIF Challenges as the inspiration for this card.

It's always nice when the paper can do the heavy lifting and all you need to add is a little ribbon and a sentiment! The DSP has a shaded gray background and that hint of magenta in the mat and the circle is just enough to pop this card. I thought about trying to color the ribbon to match but decided that might be a bit too much. This is the point where I usually add some kind of embellishment too, but I like keeping this simple.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Happy Silver Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for some dear friends who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.

The design was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts, Double Trouble, and SUO Challenges.

While I didn't use a stencil for the Double Trouble optional twist, I did pull out a bunch of different die sets for this card. I searched through my stash to find some different silver stuff than I usually use for 25th anniversary cards. I skipped the silver glimmer paper this time, but still used a little bit of silver foil. I dry embossed the vellum circle so that it would show up a little better under the branches.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

New Year's Birthdays

Hello and Happy New Year! Well, it's only January 3rd and I'm already behind on my birthday cards! This does not bode well for the rest of the year. I've got to get my act together!

No challenges here, I just needed to get myself started, so I created these cards out of the leftovers from a card I made back in October.

Since the card bases were already made up, I only needed to add the sentiment, ribbon, and embellishments to finish them off. I'll toss them in the mail today so they won't be too late!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
