Textures & Frames Birthday

Hello and welcome back! It's been a while since I've posted a card because I've been preoccupied with another project - ACK!! You can read about that on the ACK! page on this blog. For today, though, here's a card:

I used the challenges at Color Throwdown and CAS Colours & Sketches for inspiration. The colors were perfect for a masculine card, which I have a need for this week.

For the solid circles, I stamped off once with Pecan Pie, then used it full strength for the outer frame. The bars in the center are stamped in Crumb Cake and the sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze. This card was very quick to put together.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Artistic Expressions Best Wishes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges.

I'm usually a lots-of-layers-and-embellishments kind of girl, but this is an anniversary card that is being sent overseas, so I really had to limit myself. All of the layers are glued except the flower, which just has one dimensional beneath it. The glitter enamel dots are pretty flat, so they shouldn't be a problem either.

The foil accents in the DSP and the glimmer vellum dress this card up without being too showy.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Artistic Best Wishes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

This is a pretty simple card - just a bit of layering with DSP and cardstock. The leaf image was die cut and trimmed down to fit on the card front. I took the part that was left over and added it to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Glimmer Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for a friend's first wedding anniversary.

This card was inspired by the "rotate" challenge at Inkspirational and the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

I've had the Give It A Whirl dies for awhile now, but hadn't used them. This challenge provided the perfect opportunity to try them. The tricky part was trying to find sentiments to fit inside the circle. Fortunately, I have lots of retired stamp sets so I was able to find just the right ones!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Artistic Birthday

Hello and welcome back! I was purging some old (like from at least 15 years ago!) card magazines but decided to skim through them to see if there was any inspiration left inside. And boy, did I find some! This design was inspired by a card that I found by Dawn McVey.

I used a Blending Brush to add a hint of Petal Pink to the doily, then scattered the flowers from Artistically Inked down the left side of the card. The sentiment fit nicely in the corner.

But the highlight is those sparkly, glittery, Iridescent Rhinestones! They are in the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog and I will have to order many, many more of these! They are gorgeous in person!

This card is entered in the challenges at the Paper Players and Sunday Stamps Challenge. Don't those flowers remind you of bokeh? They did for me!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Expressions in Color Birthdays

Hello and welcome back! I've got some catching up to do today to finish up birthday cards for the end of the year. I've also gotten behind on my Paper Pumpkins and other kits, as evidenced by this photo.

So in order to solve two problems at once, I pulled a kit from the middle of that stack and made all birthday cards with it.

The first two cards are made pretty much exactly as the kit describes. The second card has the birthday sentiment instead of the congratulations in the kit.

This is the card that is really different from the kit. It was originally a thank you note card but I used the parts to make it a full-sized birthday card. The patterned paper and solid card base were trimmed to keep the measurements proportional. I used the Artistic Dies to die cut the large floral motif out of vellum cardstock. I added an Adhesive Sheet to the back before cutting to make it easier to attach the piece to the card front. Even with that, it didn't want to stick so I ran over it several times with an old rubber brayer to help with the adhesion. I added some Evening Evergreen ribbon under the sentiment strip and then a few sequins from the kit to finish it off.

On to another kit! Maybe I can get a bit ahead for January!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
