SIP 118 & PCC 261 - Thank You Gift Box

Hello and welcome back! Today's project is for the "anything but a card" challenge at Stamp Ink Paper and the color challenge at Paper Craft Crew.

And here is today's project:

I've had this stamp set for almost a year and had not yet inked it up, so the SIP challenge offered the perfect opportunity. I have to say that the colors in the PCC challenge were not something I would have come up with on my own, so this project was a bit of a stretch!

I used Cajun Craze cardstock to create the box, added the Lemon Lime Twist in the ribbon, stamping, and inserts inside the box, and stamped the main part of the sentiment in Tranquil Tide.  I also added some stamping on the sides of the box with Tranquil Tide, but didn't stamp until the box was already assembled, so that didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Note to self: plan all stamping BEFORE assembly! :)

I popped up the sentiment on top of the box and threaded the ribbon underneath and tied the bow. The center of the sentiment was fussy cut and popped up with the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I love these little buggers!

Technique tip - To round the corners on the sentiment piece, I used the punch on the back side of the Envelope Punch Board.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

PP 363 - Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the sketch challenge at The Paper Players.

And here is today's card:

As you can see, I turned the sketch on its side. I decided to go with a monochromatic look, which I think will work as a masculine card. The addition of the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon really pops against the Dapper Denim cardstock!

I embossed the "HAPPY" with the Celebrations Duo embossing folder, then used one of the stamps from the Happy Celebrations stamp set to stamp over the letters, revealing them. I used Dapper Denim, stamped off once. The stamping was a little blotchy, but I think it looks okay on this card. The crackle background from the Color Theory DSP Stack added the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

FF 120 & CTS 238 - Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the color challenge at Fab Friday and the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch.

And here is today's card:

It was a little tricky trying to get all four of these colors on a clean and simple card. I added the layer of Lemon Lime Twist under the stamped piece for a little dimension. The flourish is stamped off with Tranquil Tide, while the sentiment is stamped full strength. The little flowers are stamped in Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango on those colors and then die cut. It's hard to see, but I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the center of each flower.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

AYSI 157 & TGIFC 123 - A Sympathy Card

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the sketch challenge at As You See It and the color challenge at TGIFC.

And here is today's card.

For this card, I went with a clean and simple look. I first tried stamping the background flourish with Peekaboo Peach but it was a bit too garish, and when I tried stamping off, it was too faint. I think the Soft Sky looks much better. I used the Peekaboo Peach for the die cut flower, layering two of them together. Once again, I pulled out my Stitched Shapes Framelits. They sure get a lot of use!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

JAI 375 - Happy Hello Cat

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink.

And here is today's card:

When the Fox Builder Punch came out last year, I was excited to see how creative many of my fellow demonstrators were with ways to use the punch and matching stamp set to create hundreds of different critters. The cat is an easy one! I pulled a couple of retired items out of my stash to make this card.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

TTTC013 & MtS 192 - A Combo Musical Card

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for two challenges - the challenge at Tic Tac Toe and the sketch challenge at Match the Sketch

And here is today's card:

For the Tic Tac Toe challenge, I used the right hand column of sequin, lace, and gold. The sequins are gold, as is the embossing on the lyre stamp.

As an amateur musician, the Sheet Music stamp and the Musical Season stamp set really spoke to me. I expect to get lots of use out of them! (For those who may be interested, the tune on the Sheet Music stamp is Beethoven's "Fur Elise.")

I didn't add a sentiment to this card, but it could be used for lots of different occasions. It's pretty much gender neutral, so that's also a plus.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

CTD 458 - Congrats on Your New Home!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the challenge at Color Throwdown, and here is the inspiration.

And here is today's card:

I have some friends who have recently relocated from the Chicago suburbs to the Pacific Northwest. They are moving into their brand new home this weekend, so obviously, a card is in order!

I inked up the Home Life set for the first time to create this card. Because it is photopolymer, it's relatively easy to line up the three stamps, but it takes a little bit of work. This was my third try! I love that the coordinating framelits allow you to cut out many of the small flowers at one time to create some dimension on the card. The new Mini Stampin' Dimensionals also came in handy!

I hope my friends are happy in their new home - I can't wait to see the photos!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

CC&S 238 - Life is Beautiful

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the Timeless Tuesday double challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches

And here is today's card:

Lucky for me that I have that large stash of retired products, because I was able to pull out all of the cardstock colors! Since the colors are retired, I decided to use current stamps and dies. The Eastern Beauty stamp set and coordinating Eastern Medallion Thinlits were perfect for this sketch. I love that the thinlits can be layered in many different ways and can be used with the Layering Circles too.

I hope you like this card!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

A Hidden Treasure!

Hello and welcome back! This card is a bonus this week - I was cleaning my stamp studio and found a stash of anniversary cards that I made back in February, but never mailed. Oops! They were not made for a challenge, so I never posted them, but here they are today!

As you can see, I was going for a rustic look. I don't even remember if I was inspired by something on Pinterest or if I just made it up myself. I have used the burlap before for die cuts. It cuts very well with the original steel-ruled Sizzix dies, but the framelits do a serviceable job as well. I needed to trim a bit where the die didn't cut all the way through, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I added the three trims tied together with linen thread and used a glue dot to attach it to the center of the heart. The simple "happy anniversary" sentiment is stamped inside.

So there's your bonus for this week - hope you like it! (and now I can mail these!)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

FMS 303 - Happy Starbursts

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and here is the sketch.

And here is today's card:

For this card, I dug back into my stash of retired products (which is way too big, BTW!). The only current item here is the Very Vanilla cardstock.

I wanted something that I could use for masculine cards, and I think this fills the bill. I'm planning to use it as a belated birthday card, but it would also be a nice thank you card.

I hope you like it!

SIP 114 - Delightful Daisy Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for the challenge at Stamp Ink Paper, and here's a copy of the sketch.

And here is today's card:

When I originally ordered this Daisy bundle, the punch was on backorder, so I didn't work with it right away. Then I read about several people having trouble with the punch. Luckily when mine arrived, it worked just fine!

Even though it's starting to feel like fall, this is a very spring-like card. I stamped, punched, and layered two daisies, but I think I could have done three. The stamping was done with Crushed Curry on Daffodil Delight cardstock so the stamp would show better. I added a few layers and the sentiment banner to finish off the card.

I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
