You Are The Best!

Hello and welcome back! The choir director at my church is celebrating a special birthday this week and I was asked to make a card for the group to sign. Here's the card:

I used the color challenge at As You See It for inspiration.

I wanted to make a slimline card because it has a bit more space for folks to sign it, so I pulled out my Slimline Dies. I originally thought about just using blending brushes to create the colored background behind the black chevrons, but then decided to cut that piece out of all of the colors and piece the brighter colors back in. The good news is, I now have enough parts to make 3 more cards, just with different combinations!

The chevrons alone were a little boring, so out came the Pierced Blooms Dies! I really like this color combo!

I had originally created a bow for the card front but couldn't really find a place where it fit, so since this card will be hand delivered, I figured, why not put it on the envelope? :)

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Today's Tiles Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I made this card for some friends celebrating their 35th (coral) wedding anniversary. I stamped a panel using Today's Tiles, then die cut it with a Layering Square die. I placed a scalloped square under each one, then added the stem, leaves and flowers from the Pierced Blooms dies. The die cut sentiment is stamped in Granny Apple Green for some contrast.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

You Are Amazing

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for birthdays, but you could use it for any occasion.

I pulled out some retired cardstock and DSP for this card, which was inspired by the challenges at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (kraft, free, patterned paper). Unfortunately, I forgot the most important rule at RRCB - use a stamp set more than a year old. Ooops! Oh well, I really like these colors anyway!

The Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP is a great background for the Pierced Blooms flowers. I love the foiled dots on a kraft ground. The sentiment is stamped on some plain kraft paper and die cut with a label from the same die set.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
